Create-A-Sport is a high-energy, imagination-driven team-building experience where participants design, build, and debut an entirely original sport from scratch. Using everyday materials and guided by interactive challenges on BridgeTheApp, teams earn resources, define rules, and test gameplay in real time. From scoring systems and equipment design to team branding and fan engagement, this event mirrors the process of launching a real sport—blending creativity, collaboration, and quick decision-making. The experience culminates in live demonstrations as teams pitch and play their new sport in front of the group.

Event Flow

  1. Welcome, Game On Intro & Icebreaker
  • Participants are welcomed by an energetic facilitator and introduced to the mission: invent a brand-new sport
    • A playful icebreaker gets teams moving and thinking outside the box
    • Teams are formed and briefed on goals, safety guidelines, and scoring criteria
  1. BridgeTheApp Launch & Resource Challenges
  • Teams receive iPads® loaded with BridgeTheApp
    • Through trivia, photo, video, and problem-solving challenges, teams earn points to unlock:
  • Sports equipment and materials (cones, balls, hoops, foam items, tape, markers, etc.)
  • Gameplay upgrades (bonus scoring zones, obstacles, wild cards)
    • Strategy matters as teams decide how to spend their points
  1. Sport Design & Rule Creation
  • Teams brainstorm and define their sport, including:
  • Objective and scoring system
  • Rules of play and safety guidelines
  • Team size and game flow
    • Roles naturally emerge—designers, rule-writers, testers, and coaches
  1. Build, Test & Iterate
  • Teams use earned materials to build equipment, fields, or boundaries
    • Short test rounds allow teams to:
  • Identify flaws
  • Adjust rules
  • Improve fairness and fun
    • Facilitators encourage fast iteration and creativity
  1. Branding & Fan Engagement
  • Teams name their sport and create a brand identity
    • Optional elements include:
  • Logo or signage
  • Team chants or theme music
  • Taglines or “fan rules”
    • Teams prepare a brief pitch explaining why their sport should go global
  1. Live Sport Showcase
  • Each team demonstrates their sport in a timed play session
    • Judges and participants evaluate based on:
