Build, brand, and launch an iconic symbol of innovation in Build A Blimp, a creative team challenge inspired by the legendary Goodyear Blimp. Through interactive app challenges and hands-on construction, teams turn imagination and strategy into a soaring success.

Main Info

Build A Blimp is a high-energy, creativity-driven team-building experience that blends innovation, branding, and hands-on engineering. Inspired by the legacy of the Goodyear Blimp—one of America’s most recognizable corporate icons—teams compete to design, build, and market their very own working blimp. Using BridgeTheApp, participants complete interactive challenges to earn points and unlock materials from the Goodyear Store. The experience challenges teams to think creatively, collaborate strategically, and appeal to a modern audience, all while celebrating teamwork and company pride.

Event Flow

  1. Welcome, Brand Story & Icebreaker
    • Participants are welcomed by a facilitator and introduced to the history and impact of the Goodyear Blimp
    • The challenge is framed around innovation, branding, and teamwork
    • A fun icebreaker gets teams energized and thinking creatively
  2. App Launch & Challenge Brief
    • Teams are formed and receive iPads® loaded with BridgeTheApp
    • Facilitators explain how teams earn points through trivia, photo, and video challenges
    • Challenges are themed around branding, innovation, and company culture
  3. BridgeTheApp Challenge Series & Resource Earning
    • Teams compete in fast-paced challenges to earn points
    • Points are used to “purchase” supplies from the Goodyear Store, such as:
      • Blimp construction materials
      • Decorative and branding elements
      • Marketing or performance upgrades
        • Strategic decisions determine how teams allocate their resources
  4. Design, Build & Brand the Blimp
    • Teams design and construct a functional blimp using earned materials
    • Roles naturally emerge, including:
      • Engineers and builders
      • Designers and decorators
      • Marketing and branding leads
        • Teams focus on visual impact, functionality, and storytelling
  5. Blimp Showcase & Marketing Pitch
    • Each team presents their completed blimp to the group
    • Teams deliver a short pitch highlighting:
      • Blimp design and innovation
      • Brand appeal to a new generation
      • Market positioning within the competitive tire and mobility space
        • Judges score based on creativity, branding, build quality, and challenge points
  6. Awards, Photos & Wrap-Up
    • Winning teams are recognized in fun categories such as:
      • Best Blimp Design
      • Strongest Brand Story
      • Most Innovative Concept
        • Group photos capture the blimps and team pride
        • Teams leave energized, connected, and inspired—proof that great ideas really can take flight
