Event Overview:
Pedal to the medal, the gold medal, that is! This fast-paced, feel-good event blends friendly competition with heartfelt giving as teams race to build bikes for children in need. Armed with tools, iPads®, and a whole lot of team spirit, participants work together to complete challenges, earn supplies, and ultimately assemble bicycles that will bring joy to deserving kids. It’s a powerful combination of camaraderie, compassion, and creativity, with a charitable twist that leaves a lasting impact.

 

Event Flow:

  1. Welcome & Icebreaker
    •Participants arrive and are greeted by one of our award winning facilitators/emcees.
    • The event kicks off with a fun and energetic icebreaker to establish team connections and set the stage for friendly competition, which is then followed by team captain selection.
  2. BridgeTheApp™ Challenge Launch
    • Teams are trained on how to use our gamification app BridgeTheApp™, which is how they will earn the items necessary to build their bikes. Through a variety of fun, interactive, and competitive photo, video, and trivia challenges, teams will stay engaged throughout the duration of the event.

•Through a series of physical and mental challenges, teams earn points to unlock the tools and bike parts needed for the build.

  1. Bike Build & Creative Stations
    • With screwdrivers, wrenches, and teamwork in hand, the race is on to build high-quality bikes!
    • Team members take on various roles based on strengths:
    – Mechanical minds focus on construction
    – Creative types design the bike license plate
    – Marketing/Creative types lead the team’s short “marketing/elevator pitch” to present their bike in a Shark Tank meets Saturday Night Live type 30 second pitch.
    • All bikes are checked for safety and creativity before being presented.
  2. Team Presentations & Awards
    • Teams showcase their completed bikes and deliver a brief, fun “campaign” pitch.
    • Awards may include:
    – Best Team Spirit (ADD iPad points)
    – Most Creative Bike License Plate
    – Speedy Spokes Award (Fastest Safe Assembly)
    – Gold Medal Build (Overall Winner)
  3. Donation Ceremony & Heartfelt Surprise
    Upon availability, a local charity representative accepts the donation on behalf of the children served.
    • When possible, children arrive for a surprise visit to receive their bikes in person—complete with helmets and locks for safety.
    • Tears, cheers, and high-fives all around as participants witness the direct impact of their efforts.
